Day 26 - September 27, 2012

July 1, 2011 is a day that will always stick with me. Some of my best friends are Canadians that have done the International Disney College Program the past three summers and on July 1st we celebrated Canada Day (similar to our 4th of July) by heading over to the Canada Pavilion!

The thing that really blew me away was the decorations put up for this one day holiday. Canada flags adorned the walls, a lot of actual Canadians were hanging out in the pavilion adorning maple leafs and red, and my friends and I even drank maple syrup! It was during this day I really began to get a deeper appreciation for World Showcase. While I've always loved exploring the different countries, there is something to be said about the experience guests can have in each country. Today I will be listing off my favorite thing to do in each pavilion that is a nice nod to the country!

Mexico - The mariachi band that plays in front of the pavilion is amazing and makes you truly feel like you are in Mexico!

Norway - Exploring the Stave Church which is nice and quaint and offers a great history of the famous Vikings!

China - Orange Chicken is the greatest thing ever, but in addition to that I love to talk to the Chinese Cast Members and have them translate the phrases on the walls!

Germany - Oktoberfest truly makes you feel like you are in Germany during this special time of year!

Italy - Every time I head to this pavilion I try to learn an Italian phrase from the Italian Cast Members. Batti Cinque is my favorite (that means "high five")!

American Adventure - Walking around the waiting area for The American Adventure is an adventure in itself. The quotes and paintings here truly make you remember why it's great to be an American!

Japan - Miyuki is one of the few people in the world who knows the skill of candy art. Her presentations happen a few times a day and are extremely impressive.

Morocco - While in the back portion of the store ask a Cast Member to teach you to Belly Dance! They may be hesitant but if they agree it's a blast!

France - Strolling around the back parts of the France pavilion at night truly makes you feel like you are in a different world.

United Kingdom - Inside the shops there are different games that help you learn different phrases that people in London use compared to in America!

Canada - While in the main gift shop there is a game where you need to find five stuffed animals which in turn earns you a magical moment.

These are just a few of the different experiences guests can experience within each pavilion, but trust me there is a whole lot more! So next time you stroll through World Showcase go explore, eat some food, talk with Cast Members, and make yourself believe you are truly in that country!
