Future World West opened with Epcot on October 1, 1982 with
the Imagination pavilion and The Land pavilion.
The attractions featured here were Magic Journeys (a 3-D
film that was shown in the theatre where Captain EO
currently takes place), Listen to the Land (an attraction
very similar to the current Living with the Land), Kitchen
Kabaret (an audio-animatronic show that featured music while
teaching guests how to eat healthier), and Symbiosis (a film
that focused on how to live with the land).
Over the years Future World West received several changes
including a new pavilion, The Living Seas, in 1986.
Eventually The Living Seas would become what is now The Seas
with Nemo and Friends.
In addition to the new pavilion, the Imagination pavilion
would eventually be home to the attraction Journey Into
Imagination which introduced the unofficial mascot of Epcot,
Figment. The biggest change to this side of the park came in
2005 when The Land pavilion added Soarin', which is
currently the most popular attraction in the Walt Disney
World Resort.
The current attractions in Future World West are Captain EO,
Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Soarin', The Circle
of Life, Living with the Land, Turtle Talk with Crush, Sea
Base, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
Fun Facts: The exact center of the entire
Walt Disney World Resort is actually located in Future World
West! Just after passing Innoventions from World Showcase
Central you will come across a giant circle on the ground
with different inventers names in smaller circles. The exact
center of this giant circle is the center of the entire Walt
Disney World Resort! See picture below!

Touring Tips: Soarin' is currently the most
popular attraction in the entire Walt Disney World Resort so
make sure you arrive to the park early to get a Fastpass
before they run out for the day!
