Sunset Boulevard is home to the thrill rides in
Disney's Hollywood Studios, but this section of the
park has a lot more to offer than fast cars and
sudden drops.
The street opened in June of 1994, five years after
the park opened, with The Twilight Zone Tower of
Terror and Beauty and Beast Live on Stage.
In 1998, Fantasmic! opened in the Hollywood Hills
Amphitheatre, which can be found at the end of
Hollywood Boulevard. This new nighttime show brought
even
more
traffic into the area, but in 1999, Rock
'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith made Sunset
Boulevard a thrill seeker's dream!
You can still find all four of these attractions
located on Sunset Boulevard today, however,
Fantasmic! no longer runs on a nightly schedule. |
Fun Facts:
In case you ever forget what year Sunset Boulevard was added
to the park, take a look at the "Big Red Car's" assigned
number. What is it? 694, which stands for June, 1994, the
year Sunset Boulevard was added to the park.
Touring Tips:
If you are a thrill seeker and want to get on Tower of
Terror or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster with little wait, try to
get there right away in the morning when everyone else is
rushing to Toy Story Midway Mania.
If you are planning on seeing Fantasmic! you will need to
get in line at least an hour before the show starts since it
is very popular! Before you get in the long line, stop by
Sweet
Spells at the end of Sunset Boulevard so you can
have a sweet snack while waiting in line!
