The History: While The Barnstormer starring The Great Goofini has only been around since March of 2012, it does have a very interesting history! The Barnstormer originally opened October 1, 1996 as part of Mickey's Toontown Fair. When it first opened the theme was set around Goofy playing the role of a crop duster on Goofy's Wise Acre Farms.

Goofy's Wise Acre Farms used to be Grandma's Farm, home to the famous Minnie Moo, a cow that was born with a spot on its side that looked exactly like a hidden Mickey! When Imagineers decided to change the theme of the land to the Toontown we all know and love today, the barn became Goofy's and The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wise Acre Farms opened with the rest of Mickey's Toontown Fair on October 1, 1996.

When the Fantasyland Expansion was announced in September of 2009, it was announced that The Barnstormer would also receive a new storyline for guests to experience. The attraction, which took the role of being the first roller coaster for most young guests, continued to delight guests all the way up to its final days in February, 2010. Just a little over a year later, The Barnstormer starring The Great Goofini (and now missing the farm) appeared and has been delighting guests ever since!

The Barnstormer starring The Great Goofini opened on March 12, 2012.

Fun Fact: The sign out front pays an important homage to the original attraction. Read all about it over HERE!

While going through the line you can see several of the ways Goofy, I mean The Great Goofini, has been attempting to launch his daredevil career at the circus!

The planes are actually number "19" and "32." When you put these numbers together "1932" you get the year Goofy first appeared on the Big Screen in the short cartoon, Mickey's Revue! To learn more about this Fun Find click HERE!

Location: Fantasyland - Storybook Circus

Touring Tips: The best time to ride this attraction with the shortest wait (plus with the coolest views) is at night. If you want to ride the attraction during the day, however, you will most likely have a short wait and should consider getting a Fastpass!
