Fun Find Friday
November 29, 2013
Location: Fantasyland, Magic Kingdom
Two months before Frozen debuted in theaters,
Princess Fairytale Hall opened up in the Magic Kingdom with the
first reference to Frozen found within the parks! While inside the
Meet and Greet area for both princess areas (Cinderella or Rapunzel)
you can find a table with a set of books found between the princess
and their fellow princess friend.
Each of the books found here feature seven Disney
princess films with the name of the book being the original name of
the book in their native language. While six of the books had
already been turned into feature films during the debut of Princess
Fairytale Hall, one did not: Snedronnigen.
The book translates to The Snow Queen, which was the inspiration for
Frozen!
The other books there are Brave, La Belle et la Bete
(Beauty and the Beast), Cendrillon (Cinderella), Rapunzel (Tangled),
Kuss Frosch (The Princess and the Frog), and La Belle an Bois
Dormant (Sleeping Beauty). In addition to the translations of each
book being in the native tongue, each book features a symbol giving
a clue as to what book the film is based on. For instance Cendrillon
has the glass slipper, Kuss Frosch has a lily pad, and Frozen
features icicles hanging from the top of the book!
