Location: Africa, Disney's Animal Kingdom
In the past we have taken a look at different ways
Disney Imagineers have marked their signature throughout the parks
whether it's
written in
blocks or
marked by a simple stone. Today we will be taking a look at how
one of the head Imagineers has made his mark throughout the village
of Harambe inside Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Joe Rohde joined Walt Disney Imagineering in 1980
where he worked on several projects dealing with EPCOT Center. The
projects consisted of Mexico, Norway, and Captain EO (where he makes
an appearance in the preshow video). As time went on he began to
make his way up in the world of Imagineers until the 1990s where he
became the lead designer of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
To pay tribute to his vision that became a reality,
fellow Imagineers placed a clever nod to their leader throughout
Africa in an advertisement:

JORODI when read slowly reads the name of the famous
Imagineer, Joe Rohde!
