Location: Club Cool, Epcot

I know what you are probably thinking: "It's the
30th anniversary of Epcot and you are taking us to Club Cool, a
place that hasn't had any significant historical aspect to Epcot?"
Well, technically we aren't going inside of Club Cool, but behind
it!
When facing Club Cool from the front you will find a
door to the right (to the left of the ice cream shop). If you go to
this door you will be in a hallway that is attached to the Epcot
Character Spot, some restrooms, and a hallway filled with
practically nothing. I say practically mainly due to the fact that
in this hallway guests can find one of the most overlooked items
dealing with Epcot within all of Epcot:

This, my friends, is the timeline of Epcot! Here
guests can discover all of the significant moments of Epcot's
history, along with some forgotten ones all on one wall. The time
line begins in 1965 when Walt Disney finally announced that he was
indeed the person buying up land throughout central Florida for a
brand new "Florida Project" and it ends on October 1, 2007, the 25th
anniversary of Epcot!

In between you will find the dedications for
different attractions and short looks at some attractions that you
may have never even heard of!

The amazing thing about this timeline is how it,
along with the 25 year anniversary celebration came into being. When
2007 came about and people began to realize what a significant year
it was in Epcot's history they began to write to Disney asking what
types of special events they should expect to see in honor of their
25th year. Disney had nothing planned whatsoever. An online rally
was created by a high school student who loved Epcot dearly. He got
a large enough following and approached Disney with the idea of a
25th anniversary celebration. Disney listened and along with special
activities and events for the day, this timeline was added to the
back wall of Club Cool to commemorate the first 25 amazing years of
Epcot!
