Location: Downtown Disney, Walt Disney World
One of the great things about Disney is the fact
that the details are hidden everywhere including in plain sight as
we will see in today's Fun Find Friday. Our journey today takes us
to Goofy's Candy Company in the Marketplace at Downtown Disney. Once
inside, take a look at the back wall of the candy making station to
find the following image:

Here we can find the periodic table of elements.
While most of us may remember the periodic tables starting with
Hydrogen (H) as number 1 and making its way to 118, Ununoctium.
While the actual periodic table of elements is broken up into
various sections for metals and nonmetals, the periodic table found
in Goofy's Candy Company breaks up the elements a little bit
differently.
Starting on the left-hand side of the table, you can
find the Core Disney elements. Here you can find the elements for Tb
(Tinkonium), Pl (Plutonium), and other elements representing Donald,
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Daisy.

In the middle of the table, you can find the
Elements of Royal Degree. Here you can find various characters that
have assisted or interacted with royalty throughout the years. For
instance, Tr is Tritonium for Ariel's father King Triton, while Cr
is Cri-keeium, representing the loyal cricket in the film Mulan. In
addition, you can find elements for Flounder, Gaston, Cogsworth,
Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, and even the Magic Mirror!

On the far right-hand side of the table, you can
find the elements of evil which feature elements like Sc (Scaronium),
Cr (Cruellonium), and even the often overlooked element R which
represents Radcliffium an homage to the often overlooked Governor
Radcliffe from the 1995 classic Pocahontas.

The final elements we will look at today can be
found at the very bottom of the chart and are appropriately named
The Seven Smallest Elements. These reference the seven dwarfs in the
form of Sleepy (Sl), Happy (H), Grumpy (Gr), Doc (D), Bashful (Ba),
Dopey (Do), and Sneezy (Sn).

While these are just a small sampling of the Disney
Periodic Table of Elements, I strongly suggest taking a look at all
the events on your next visit to the Marketplace. You'll be happy to
see some of your favorite characters getting a nod in a very subtle
way!
