Location: Liberty Square, Magic Kingdom
Happy 4th of July everyone! The
spirit of America is present throughout
Disneyland and Walt Disney World, which makes a
lot of sense since Walt Disney is probably as
American as they come! During Disneyland's first
years, Walt had an idea for a brand new
attraction that would be part of an expansion
off of Main Street. One of the main attractions
on this Liberty Square type of street would
feature all of the United States Presidents
talking with one another.
The technology for such an attraction wasn't
perfected yet, however, Walt did have the opportunity to make a
miniaturized version for the 1964 World's Fair known as Great
Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Eventually, when Walt Disney World opened,
the idea of an attraction featuring all U.S. Presidents was relooked
at and the Hall of Presidents would open up with the Magic Kingdom
on October 1, 1971.
Within the attraction is a treasure trove of hidden
secrets just waiting to be discovered, but one of the discoveries
goes hand in hand with today's special celebration. During the show,
when all of the Presidents are present on stage, observant guests
may find a clock on the far right hand side of the stage. While at
first glance (or second or third) there doesn't seem to be anything
special about the clock, guests with good eyes may notice something
special about the time itself:

While the picture above is not the clearest, the
time shown upon the clock is 7:04, or to convert it into a date:
July 4th, our very own Independence Day!
