Imagine it! You are at Disney's Animal Kingdom at rope drop with one goal in mind: to get Fastpasses for Expedition Everest. So the opening show concludes and you and hundreds of other guests start to walk, not run, towards Asia. Along the way you pass the shrine shown below.

I know what you are thinking, "Yes, I've seen it before! Great attention to detail Disney, but where on earth are you going with this Brent? Can't I continue on my way and get my Fastpasses already?"

No. You can't.

You see, it is great attention to detail, but like always there is more detail here than actually meets the eye. Disney often gives us little sneak previews of what lies ahead (watch out, here comes a ramble!). For instance, while walking through the Main Street Train Station you see several different posters of the attractions that lie inside the Magic Kingdom, on Star Tours you see previews of the different planets you may be traveling to, and over at Kilimanjaro Safaris you meet Wilson who explains what the Harambe Wildlife Preserve is all about.

So what is this shrine giving us a preview of? If you look at it closely it shows you exactly what lies ahead, or in this case, behind it. Let's take a look at the shrine from a different point of view:

If you look at the shrine from this angle you can see that this isn't just any ordinary shrine. It is, in fact, a duplicate of the mountain range that lies behind it, complete with Everest and Forbidden Mountain! Now continue on to get your Fastpasses! You may have a later return time, but wasn't the fun find well worth the wait? No? Well, I hope a yeti takes you for his lunch!
