Most people that have visited Toy Story Midway Mania
would recognize the picture above. It's of the building directly
across the way above the entrance to the Buzz and Woody meet and
greet. However, there is a story connected to this board. I know
what you're thinking: "Obviously a reference to the famous song from
the film." True, but let's look at this a little closer.
 |
While waiting to retrieve your Fastpasses for Toy Story
Midway Mania take a look to your right to find the door
pictured on the left hand side. It's just kind of sitting
there and seems pretty insignificant. However, if you look
at the door a little more closely you will realize that
there is actually a sign "taped" to the window.
The sign shows us that this is the Command Post for the
Green Army Men found in all three Toy Story films. As seen
in the original 1995 Toy Story film, the Green Army Men have
a very important mission for the other toys. They are the
eyes and ears in other parts of the house so toys in Andy's
room know what's going on in other parts of the house.
However, little did we know that there sole purpose isn't to
just carry baby monitors around, but they have more ways to
communicate with one another. |

In the above picture we can see
what Plan A and Plan B are. The Green Army Men use a Signal
Corps Communicator (aka, Mr. Spell) to communicate with one
another. However, some times that plan may fail, and if
that's the case, there is Plan B. Plan B allows the Green
Army Men to use a Top Secret Message Decoder (aka a Scrabble
game board) to share information with one another. This time
around, the mission is quite simple, "You've Got a Friend in
Me."
So next time while in Pixar Place, take a look at Plan A
(near the store opposite of the Fastpass machines) and Plan
B (across from the entrance to Toy Story Midway Mania.
Until next time, at ease soldiers!
