Location: Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, Polynesian
Back in the mid-1990s, Disney began to realize one
of their classic attractions, Tropical Serenade (Walt Disney World's
version of The Enchanted Tiki Room) just wasn't connecting with
younger audiences. To fix the problem, Imagineers decided to bring
two characters, Iago and Zazu, from recent animated films in hopes
that they would bring new life into the attraction. The attraction,
now known as The Enchanted Tiki Room - Under New Management, did see
a slight increase in attendance by bringing the familiar faces to
the attraction.
In addition to the two joining Fritz, Pierre,
Michael, and Jose, the Tiki Goddess of Disaster, known as Uh-Oa
joined the attraction as well. Uh-Oa, displeased by Iago's insults
to the Tiki gods, sends the bird away and restores peace to the Tiki
Room. In January of 2011, the attraction caught on fire forcing it
to close and eventually reopening up as Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki
Room. But what ever happened to Uh-Oa? Flash forward to this week!

Earlier this week Trader Sam's Grog Grotto opened up
at the Polynesian Village Resort. The bar is a sequel, in a way, to
a bar found at the Disneyland Resort, but is themed a little bit
differently than the original bar. While the bar in Disneyland has a
drink named after the Tiki Goddess of Disaster, bartenders and
guests simply chant Uh-Oa while spraying water into the air. Grog
Grotto, on the other hand, steps it up a notch.
Just after entering the bar, take a look at the wall
directly to your left and up towards the ceiling. Here you will see
the one and only Uh-Oa from The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New
Management. Not only that, whenever a guest orders a drink known as
the Uh-Oa, the Tiki Goddess comes to life in the bar and proclaims,
:When you mess with Polynesia, the Tiki gods will squeeze ya."

This is just one small aspect of an area that is
amazingly well themed so hang tight, because we will for sure be
visiting the Grog Grotto in the future to discover other treasures
waiting for us to find!
