Location: All over!
Welcome to Lion King week everyone! While trying to
figure out what to cover for our Lion King week I came up with
several different fun finds located throughout Walt Disney World,
Disneyland, and Disney films. However, two faces kept coming back
over and over while trying to figure out which Fun Find would be the
best: Timon and Pumbaa.
Timon and Pumbaa have made quite a name for
themselves over the years. They have been spokesanimals for healthy
eating (nothing better than bugs!), had their own television show
(entitled The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa), hosted attractions (The
Circle of Life at Epcot and Festival of the Lion King at Disney's
Animal Kingdom), and more! Today we will talk about how these two
carefree individuals have become the spokesanimals for safety in
Walt Disney World!

Shortly after The Lion King was released Disney was
looking for new ways to promote safety throughout the parks. The
choice of spokesmen became pretty obvious when they realized that
with Timon and Pumbaa's carefree lifestyle could get them into some
very sticky situations. Using those sticky situations, they could
then teach guests on how to behave in the parks the correct way.
Guests can collect 15 cards, with two bonus cards,
throughout all of Walt Disney World! Where can you get them? At park
opening, certain attractions at certain times, different
restaurants, and if you want them all at one time you can stop by a
guest relations and ask about Wild About Safety cards! One
interesting thing to note is that the majority of the cards focus on
a backdrop of a pink Cinderella Castle or Big Thunder Mountain
Railroad. However, take a closer look at the pictures below:

While most guests look at the pictures they realize
that they are all Disney parks related, but if you take a closer
look at the two above pictures you'll realize that they don't focus
on Walt Disney World attractions, but Disneyland attractions
instead. The Jolly Trolley and a Space Mountain with side by side
seats (which is from Disneyland instead of the front back seating at
Walt Disney World) are both based on attractions found in Disneyland
instead of Walt Disney World!

So next time you are in Walt Disney World keep your
eyes open for these Wild about Safety cards so you and your family
can have a fun and safe trip! Good luck trying to catch them all!
