Location: Future World, Epcot
It's funny how two totally different attractions can
be connected in a weird way. Today's connection begins over at the
Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland. Since 1964, there has been a family
educating the world about the progress of America in the classic
attraction, Carousel of Progress. While this attraction features
several fun finds of its own with stories featuring the members of
the family, today we will be taking a look at how John and Patricia
(the father and daughter) connect with Spaceship Earth.

The two characters have obviously traveled through
the 20th century time and time again, but this isn't the only time
traveling these two have done on Disney property. When Epcot Center
opened up in 1982, there was, and still is to this day, a signature
attraction in World Showcase and Future World: The American
Adventure and Spaceship Earth. Both of these attractions have one
thing in common. There are audio-animatronics galore!
Due to the fact that there were so many
audio-animatronics and that the Imagineers were on a time frame to
complete both attractions before opening, they decided to cut some
corners. One of the easiest ways for them to do this was by using
the mold of faces from previous attractions. Two of the molds used
for the Renaissance scene were none other than John and Patricia
from Carousel of Progress!

I know what you are thinking: Jiminy Jillikers! What
other characters can be found inside Spaceship Earth? In the future
we will go into depth about the presidents that currently reside
inside this signature attraction, but until then, happy time
traveling!
