Over the past
few years, Downtown Disney has
been home to Cars Masters
Weekend during Father's Day
Weekend. While I have visited
the past few years, this morning
I woke up bright and early to
partake in some of the events
that I may find fun.

We got to
Downtown Disney around 9:45 in
hopes to visit the 10:00
Animation Academy class where
they promised to be teaching how
to draw some of our favorite
Cars characters. Unfortunately,
the first class was going to
feature Dusty from the Planes
films, so we decided to explore
the rest of the area until the
11:00 class where Lightning
McQueen would be drawn.

While exploring
the area we decided to visit
three characters from the Cars
films. The first two, Lightning
McQueen and Mater, can often be
found in Disney's Hollywood
Studios, but the third, Finn
McMissle, is a rarer character
to meet so of course we jumped
at the opportunity!

After meeting
the Cars characters we checked
out some of the merchandise for
the event. They had phone
covers, car flags, shirts, and
more:

The Lightning
McQueen Animation Academy class
was good, although done on
picnic tables so they drawing
surface wasn't exactly ideal,
but still a lot of fun.

There was
several other activities for
children including a game to put
out fires (in preparation for
the new Planes: Fire and
Rescue), going inside a
Firetruck, and more fun!

Overall, there
are over 100 cars on display
throughout Downtown Disney. Some
are muscle cars, other classics,
and my favorite, Herbie the
Lovebug:

Cars Masters
Weekend is only going on today
and tomorrow so make sure you
stop by Downtown Disney to join
the fun!
