Geppetto
Geppetto is the wonderfully portrayed woodcarver in Walt
Disney's 1940 film, Pinocchio. He can also be found in Mickey's
House of Villains, Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the
House of Mouse, the Pinocchio video game, House of Mouse,
Kingdom Hearts, and other various merchandise such as board
games, clothes, comics, mugs, and snow globes.
He lives in his workshop in Italy where he makes wonderful
creations for children and adults. Geppetto is the father of
Pinocchio, the boy turned from a wood figure to a real boy. His
other close allies include Jiminy Cricket, his pets Figaro and
Cleo, and also the Blue Fairy. He has a few different enemies
who try to take Pinocchio down the wrong path, but his largest
enemy of his is no doubt Monstro the Whale who swallows him
while he is out looking for Pinocchio.
Geppetto is a elderly man. He has grey hair and a mustache to
match and wears a blue shirt, maroon vest, black pants, blue
socks, and black shoes with a shiny gold buckle on them. He also
wears glasses and is a very cheerful man, especially after
Pinocchio turns into a real boy. He is a very intelligent man
and has a very good imagination judging by his work.
He has been voiced by quite a few people over the years. During
the feature film he was voiced by Christian Rub, then by Tony
Pope, and finally by Jeff Bennett. Carlo Collodi did a fantastic
job of creating him and did a great job of understanding what
Geppetto should look like and act like.
Geppetto can be found in Disney parks all over the world. At
Disneyland you can often find him wandering the parks looking
for directions. You can also take a trip to his workshop and
find him in Pinocchio's Daring Journey. In Walt Disney World you
can find him as a meet and greet character in Fantasyland quite
often with his other Pinocchio friends. He also could be found
in Celebrate A Dreams Come True Parade and in the night time
spectacular, Fantasmic!
