Horace Horsecollar

Horace Horsecollar is the lovable talking horse who was once a very common side character in vintage cartoons. He can be found in movies such as 'Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse,' 'Mickey's Christmas Carol,' 'The Prince and the Pauper,' 'Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas,' and he also has a cameo in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit.' He can also be seen in television shows such as 'House of Mouse,' 'Mickey Mouse Club,' 'Have a Laugh!' and 'Mickey Mouse Works.' He can also be seen in video games such as the Kingdom Hearts games, Epic Mickey, Mickey's Ultimate Challenge, Disney TH!NK Fast, World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and Land of Illusions starring Mickey Mouse. Finally he can be found in lots of other merchandise such as pins, comic books, paintings, puzzles, and old school toys.

He has lived in many places over his history: Mean Street, Wasteland, Mouseton, Disney Town, Mickey's Toontown, and Timeless River. Horace has many allies some of which include his best friend Mickey Mouse, the rest of the fab five, his girlfriend Clarabelle Cow, Clara Cluck, and Scrooge McDuck. His two biggest rivals are Sylvester Shyster and Pete.

*FUN FACT* Disney planned on Horace having his own show on The Disney Afternoon block called 'Maximum Horsepower' about what happened to him after he stopped appearing in short cartoons. Disney decided against this so it never hit television.

Horace has had quite a wide variety of outfits of the years, his most common outfit includes a red long-sleeved shirt, blue overalls, brown shoes, a maroon bowler hat (and who wouldn't want a bowler hat), a green bowtie, and a horsecollar around his neck.

He was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He has been voiced by Walt Disney, Bill Farmer (who also provides the voice of Goofy), and a mystery voice actor in his earlier years of existence. Horace first appeared in 1929 for the short 'The Plowboy' and was in a lot of shorts until 1942 and he became less noticeable.

Horace can be found in Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, and Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas Parade. He can also be found as a meet and greet character  on rare occasion at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. You can also find references of him in Mickey's Toontown, Silly Symphony Swings, the Team Mickey Store, and on the posters at Disney California Adventure for the construction going on there.
