Jack Sparrow
Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain of the Black Pearl, has become an Icon: the girls love him and the guys want to be him. He has been in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and he will soon be on the big screen again for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which comes to theaters on May 20th, 2011. He can also be found in the video game Kingdom Hearts 2, and has his own book series called Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow. These consist of 12 books total aimed at young readers, but I have read these and really enjoyed them.
Sparrow was born at sea, but makes port quite frequently in Tortuga, and has been marooned on a certain deserted island on a few occasions. Jack Sparrow's father is Captain Teague; he also has his right hand man Mr. Gibbs, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan/Turner.
Captain Jack Sparrow has a very common pirate outfit, he has long hair with dreadlocks that have beads in them, a braided goatee with beads, a red bandana, a leather pirate hat, a white long sleeve ruffled shirt, navy blue vest, a red and white sash loop, a brown belt, a over the shoulder belt, brown pants, brown boots, a compass that points to the thing you want the most, a sword, a pistol, and rings on his fingers. He also wears a coat at times in the films.
Jack Sparrow was played by Johnny Depp and he modeled his character after Keith Richards. Sparrow is voiced by James Arnold Taylor in Kingdom Hearts 2 because Johnny Depp was filming a pirate's movie when they needed to do a voice over in the game.
Captain Jack Sparrow can be found in Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney Parks around the world. He also does a show at Disney World daily outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. So make sure you stop by and visit Captain Jack. Savvy!
