Professor Ludwig Von Drake

Professor Ludwig Von Drake

This week I will be talking about one of my all time favorite characters in honor of Long Lost Friends week. Professor Ludwig Von Drake has been around for many years. He can be found in 'Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse,' 'A Symposium of Popular Songs,' television shows such as 'DuckTales,' 'House of Mouse,' 'The Wonderful World of Color,' 'Disneyland,' 'Quack Pack,' 'Bonkers,' 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,' 'Raw Toonage,' and 'Mickey Mouse Works.' He's also appeared in video games like Mickey's Speedway USA, Goofy's Hysterical History Tour, Disney Golf, and Mickey Saves the Day 3D Adventure. In other merchandise he can be found in things such as books, toys, clothing, pins, and vinylmations.

He has lived in a few different places including Mickey's Toontown, Duckburg, and Burbank. He has many friends that he can count on such as the Fab Five, Scrooge McDuck, Walt Disney, Launchpad McQuack, and Bonkers. His enemies include Mortimer Mouse, Pete, and The Phantom Blot. He is part of the historic Duck Family.

Professor Ludwiig Von Drake

Ludwig has white feathers with gray hair, gray eyebrows, and he is partially bald. He has an orange bill and orange feet. He wears a white shirt, gray overcoat, black tie, tan vest, and he wears glasses. Over the years the colors of his coat, vest, and jacket have changed. He is very smart, yet crazy and funny. He also has a very think German accent.

*FUN FACT* Professor Ludwig Von Drake has hosted 6 Disney Sing-Along videos. (Under the Sea, You Can Fly, Colors of the Wind, Fun With Music, 101 Notes of Fun, and I Love to Laugh)

He was animated by the legendary animators Ward Kimball and Milt Kahl. He was originally voiced the extremely talented Paul Frees, since he was voiced by Corey Burton and Walker Edmiston.

Ludwig Von Drake Meet and Greet

Ludwig Von Drake is a very rare character in Disney theme parks around the world. He is usually used for special occasions such as Marathons and other rare events. His presence can be found in parks such as a window in Toontown in Disneyland, World of Color's pre-show in Disney California Adventure, Mouse Gear in Epcot, and he also has a statue in Disneyland Paris.

I will leave you with a partial lyric to one of my favorite Disney songs 'The Spectrum Song':

Red, yellow, green, red, blue blue blue

Red, purple, green, yellow, orange, red red

Red, yellow, green, red, blue blue blue

Red, purple, green, yellow, orange, red red
