Mary Poppins
Mary Poppins is the lead character in the
1964 classic Walt Disney film, "Mary Poppins."
The East wind blew Mary Poppins to Number
Seventeen Cherry Tree Lane in London,
England.
Mary Poppins doesn't have a family. I
believe Bert is as close to a family member
that she has. She lives for helping the
children of the world that are in need of
help. Bert, Jane and Michael join her on her
adventure in the movie.
On a side note, I also recommend everyone
reading the fantastic P.L. Travers books
about Mary Poppins. There are 8 books in the
series: Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Comes
Back,
Mary Poppins Opens the Door, Mary
Poppins in the Park, Mary Poppins from A-Z,
Mary Poppins in the Kitchen, Mary Poppins in
Cherry Tree Lane, and Mary Poppins and the
House Next Door.
Mary Poppins wears many outfits in
the film and in the parks. Her primary outfit
is a dark blue dress jacket, and a long dark
blue skirt with a white and
yellow dress shirt and red bow. With
it she wears
a Black hat with flowers on it, white gloves
and black shoes. Her second outfit is the
white and yellow dress shirt with a red bow,
long dark blue skirt and a white apron. Her
third outfit is a beautiful
white dress with red and pink
sequences all over and a white hat that has
flowers on it with a white and olive green
umbrella and white and pink boots.
Mary Poppins is played by one of the
greatest actresses of all time in my opinion
Dame Julie Andrews.
You can find Mary Poppins everyday at
Walt
Disney World at the
United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot. She can occasionally be found at
the Magic of Animation building at Hollywood
Studios, and at Prince Charming Regal
Carrousel in the
Magic Kingdom. Mary Poppins can also
be seen on Broadway. The play started at
West End in 2004 and eventually opened on Broadway
in 2006. You can learn all about Mary
Poppins in a fantastic episode of the
W.E.D.nesday Show as in Episode 56 Brent
talks about all things Mary Poppins!
