Mickey Mouse

This weeks Who's Who Wednesday
is long overdue; it's the mouse that started it
all, Mickey Mouse. There are a few different
versions of how Mickey came to be. Some believe
Walt Disney created him on a train ride back
home in 1928 after Oswald was taken from him
while others believe that Ub Iwerks created
Mickey Mouse. One thing we for sure is Lillian
Disney came up with the name Mickey because she
didn't like Mortimer as the characters name.
Mickey Mouse is a world icon.
He can be found in merchandise such as toys,
pins, board games, books, music, and on
clothing. He can also be found in films such as
'Fun and Fancy Free,' 'Fantasia,' 'Fantasia
2000,' 'Mickey's House of Villains,' 'Mickey's
Once Upon a Christmas,' 'Mickey, Donald and

Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse,'

Framed Roger Rabbit,' and 'The Lion King 1 '..

*FUN FACT* During World War
II, when the Allied forces invaded Normandy on
D-Day in 1944, "Mickey Mouse" was used as a
secret password between intelligence officers.

Mickey has lived in many
places over the years. A few of the places he's
called home are Hollywood, Mickey's ToonTown,
Disney Castle, Mouseton, and Yen Sid's Tower.
Mickey has a few known relatives. The most
notable are Minnie Mouse as his sweetheart,
along with Ferdie and Morty as his nephews. His
number one pal is his lovable pet dog Pluto, he
also has many friends that will do anything for
him which include the rest of the fab five and
all the good characters. His enemies include
Mortimer, Pete, The Mad Doctor, The Phantom
Blot, Sylvester Shyster, and the rest of the
Disney villains that want to take over and
create evil.
He has had a number of outfits
over the years, from his band concert outfit to
his sorcerer's apprentice outfit to his tuxedos,
but his most common outfit would be his white
gloves, yellow shoes, and red shorts with white
buttons. Mickey is a very brave, kind, and happy
oriented mouse.
*FUN FACT* Mickey Mouse was
the first cartoon character to have a star on
the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Mickey was created by Walt
Disney and Ub Iwerks. He has been voiced by a
few different people over the years such as Les
Perkins, Wayne Allwine, James MacDonald, Bret
Iwan, and Walt Disney himself voiced Mickey for
almost 20 years because he just couldn't find
the right voice for Mickey.
