Taran

Taran is one of the main characters from the 1985
Walt Disney film, "The Black Cauldron." He can also be found in "The
Black Cauldron" video game. I also remember seeing other merchandise
back in the late 80s but it was very rare and now seems to be
nonexistent. The film is based on two books in the Prydain
Chronicles. "The Black Cauldron" was the first Disney film to
receive a PG rating, and would have been PG-13 or R if they hadn't
cut a few scenes from the film.
He hails from Prydain, on the Caer Dallen farm.
During the film his adventures takes him to many different dark and
spooky places. He has a lot of people he can count on such as, Hen
Wen, Dallben, Gurgi, Princess Eilonwy, King Eidilleg, Fflewddur
Fflam, and a few others. His enemies include one of the more
terrifying villains ever created in my opinion, The Horned King,
also The Cauldron Born, and Creeper try their hand in destroying
Taran.

*FUN FACT* "The Black Cauldron" was the last
Disney animated film to be finished at the Buena Vista Studios.
Taran is your average looking teenager. He wears
green pants, a yellow long-sleeve shirt, with a green vest and brown
boots. He is one of the most heroic and courageous teenage
characters in any Walt Disney film in my opinion.

He is voiced by Grant Bardsley in the film. There
were many unique things about this film. It was the
first to use computer technology, last film to ever use the
multi-plane camera (talked about on One Man"s
Dream at Walt Disney World), first Disney
film without "The End" at the conclusion of it, and finally the
first Disney film to have closing credits since Alice in Wonderland.
Taran can be found in Tokyo Disneyland during the
Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour attraction. You can also find The
Horned King in this same attraction.
