Muppet Vision 3-D

Return to Backlot Attractions

The Story: Can the Muppets really perfect 3-D? That's the question you should be asking yourself while walking into this attraction. The Muppets have invited you, and several others, to be the first to experience a brand new 3-D experience. While here, they will try to show you the new ideas they have been working on to help incorporate song, gags, and fun into a 3-D experience for all to enjoy!

Height Restriction: Technically none, however, this picture shows otherwise:

Attraction Length: About 13 minutes

Fastpass: Not Available

The History: Back in the early 1990's, Disney-MGM Studios had caught the Muppet bug and was considering changing it's name to Disney-MGM-Muppet Studios (well, not really, but just go with it). There was a Muppet show, plans for a Muppet themed section of the park, and eventually, in May of 1991, Muppet Vision 3-D opened, marking the last Muppet project Jim Henson would work on before his death.

The attraction's official open date is May 16, 1991

Fun Facts: Half of the attraction takes place before you even put your 3-D glasses on! There are several fun finds outside of the building (see the video below), at the entrance, and in the preshow viewing area!

In some cases, like in this picture, make sure you follow the instructions of the signs in the area for some fun surprises!

A video for the fun finds in the exterior of Muppet Vision 3-D!

Location: Backlot

Touring Tips: You can usually walk onto the ride later in the evening when most people are on the other side of the park!
