Cinderella's Wishing Well in the Magic Kingdom

What is it? Cinderella's Wishing Well

The Story: In the shadow of Cinderella Castle can be found the wishing well that belongs to Cinderella. I know what you are probably thinking: "But Cinderella never had a wishing well in the film. Only Snow White did!" You are absolutely right, but also remember that Cinderella's story didn't stop at the end of the 1950 classic, but some parts of the story continue right here in the middle of Fantasyland!

You see, Cinderella is one of Disney's true dreamers. She had a not so great life with her evil step family where she was essentially the servant of the entire household and would often wake up wishing some day her dreams would one day come true. As we saw in the film, she ended up marrying Prince Charming and the two lived happily ever after. Naturally, Cinderella wanted others in the kingdom to follow their dreams and to keep their dreams alive she created the wishing well where locals could stop by and make their wishes in hopes that some day they would come true.

Fun Facts: Pay close attention to the detailed sculptures found on the well. They were sculpted by Disney Legend Blaine Gibson and feature different animals from the film, including Gus and Lucifer!

All of the coins that are tossed into the wishing well are actually donated to help make children's dreams come true through organizations like Make A Wish! So make sure you make your wish in order to help a child's wish come true!
