September 21, 2011

Timon is the lovable little meerkat sidekick from the 1994 hit Walt Disney film 'The Lion King.' Timon can also be found in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, The Lion King 1 1/2, Mickey's House of Villains, and Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse. He also appeared in the television shows House of Mouse, Timon and Pumbaa, and Mickey Mouse Works. Timon is in video games like The Lion King, Kingdom Hearts 2, The Lion King: Simba's Mighty Adventures, and The Lion King 1 1/2. The Lion King characters have a vast array of other merchandise as well.

Timon was an outcast with his buddy Pumbaa until Simba showed up. The three made their home wherever they wanted. After meeting Simba and going back to help him defeat Scar, they made the Pride Lands their new home. Timon has a mother and an uncle (so we are told). He has many allies: Pumbaa (his best friend), Zazu, Rafiki, Nala, and Simba. His enemies include Scar and all the cruel Hyenas.

He has brown fur and dark colored fingers, along with his vibrant red hair. He is very funny, and often makes jokes of the situation. Two of his well known phrases are 'Hakuna Matata! It means no worries,' and 'You got to put your past behind you.'

Timon was animated by Mike Surrey, and has also been voiced by quite a few people of the years, but most notably Nathan Lane.

Timon can be found at Disney parks around the world. He was be found in It's a Small World (Disneyland), Festival of the Lion King (Disney's Animal Kingdom), Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable (Epcot), and during the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic!
